South West Heritage Trust worked with us to create an immersive, inclusive and innovative digital experience for their Bridgwater Tile Museum. Find out what we did.

OUTCOMES

  • A low-cost tool to integrate digital technology into an existing experience
  • Fixed the information gaps for visitors who had never previously visited
  • Provides high-quality data that can be used for risk assessment and planning
  • Cloud-based visual data system means easy access from any device or phone

THEIR CHALLENGE

To imrove the pre and post visitor experience at the Bridgwater museum

The Bridgwater Brick & Tile Museum wanted to use technology to increase awareness of their important site as well as to improve the pre-and post-visitor experience. "People are used to this type of digital technology - so it simply compliments their expectations and sometimes SWHT are behind the curve when it comes to adopting this approach"

Opening up the museum - digitally

There are some parts of museums that are simply inaccessible to visitors. We worked with SWHT to allow visitors to see the ground floor of the museum which houses the base of the important brick kiln. Normally, this can only be viewed from above, but with our interactive and immersive software visitors are able to walk around this space and almost "touch" the kiln brickwork. They are also able to see old tiles that are not on display. Visitors can even measure distances - this is a tool that can be used by children visiting as part of an activity
